Nicholas Colia

 Nicholas Colia is a Brooklyn based filmmaker.

He recently received his MFA from NYU Graduate Film School where he was the recipient of the Martin Scorsese and Maurice Kanbar Scholarships. His short films include Alex and the Handyman (winner of the National Board of Review Student Grant, the 1st Place King Award for Graduate Films at NYU’s Wasserman Awards) and Untitled Short Film About White People (winner of the Audience Award for Best Student Short, Palm Springs International Shortfest).

His first feature, Griffin in Summer, premiered at the Tribeca Festival where it received awards for Best US Narrative Feature, Best Screenplay, and the Special Jury Mention for New Narrative Director. He was recently nominated for for the Someone to Watch Award at the 2025 Independent Spirit Awards.
